Author's Guidelines
Article Format and Style Sheet
Heritage: International Journal of Linguistics and Literature
- Document Format: The manuscript must be typed in Times New Roman font, formatted to A4 paper size, with 1.15-inch margins on the left and right and 1.65-inch margins on the top and bottom.
Title
- The title should be center-aligned, in uppercase, bold, and size 16 font.
- Titles must not exceed 15 words and should avoid formulas, acronyms, or jargon that obscure clarity.
Author Details
- Up to three authors are permitted per manuscript.
- Author details should be center-aligned, written in size 10 font, and placed directly below the title.
- Include the following information in this sequence:
- Full Name
- Academic or Occupational Affiliation (Designation and Institute Name)
- E-mail ID (in italics)
Abstract
- An abstract is required, with a minimum length of 200 words in size 12 font.
- It should concisely summarize the study’s problem, methodology, findings, and significance.
Keywords
Include 5-10 keywords in italics, arranged alphabetically and separated by commas, ending with a period.
Manuscript
- Text must be in size 12 font with single-line spacing, using 0 pts before and 6 pts after paragraphs.
- Headings should follow APA style guidelines and be bold.
- Manuscripts must be 15-25 pages long, including references, and structured into sections such as Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. The Introduction can include a review of relevant literature. Appendices are not allowed.
- Ensure the manuscript is free from grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. It is recommended that new scholars have their work reviewed by an English language expert prior to submission.
Tables, Figures, and Images
- Visual elements should complement the text and effectively convey information.
- Tables and figures must be referenced and explained in the text.
- All visual materials should adhere to APA 6th Edition formatting guidelines.
References
- References must follow APA style (6th Edition) and appear alphabetically at the end of the manuscript.
- Each in-text citation must correspond to an entry in the reference list.
- Citations are not permitted in the abstract. Personal communications and unpublished findings should be mentioned in the text but excluded from the reference list.
Language
- As a monolingual journal, only submissions in English will be considered. References or examples in other languages may be included within the manuscript.

Author’s Guidelines
The following ethical standards are obligatory for all authors submitting to Heritage: International Journal of Linguistics and Literature. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in penalties, including the suspension or cancellation of publishing privileges.
Reporting Standards
- Authors must present their research findings and data accurately and in detail, with proper referencing.
- Misrepresentation, false statements, or knowingly inaccurate claims are strictly prohibited and considered unethical.
Originality and Plagiarism
- Plagiarism in any form is unethical and will result in manuscript rejection.
- Directly quoted material must be enclosed in quotation marks and properly cited.
- The similarity index must not exceed 19%, as per the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) guidelines.
Declaration and Certification
- Authors must submit a declaration confirming the manuscript is their original work, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
- For co-authored works, an agreement specifying authorship rights and the agreed order of authorship must be submitted.
Simultaneous Submissions
- Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is unethical and will result in immediate rejection.
Acknowledgment of Sources
- Authors must provide proper acknowledgment of all sources, including prior research and the contributions of individuals, organizations, or institutions supporting the study.
- A comprehensive literature review is required, with original publications appropriately cited.
Authorship Credit
- Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research concept, data analysis, or manuscript preparation.
- The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and consented to its submission.
Participant Privacy
- Authors must respect the confidentiality of research participants.
- In cases where participants’ identities are disclosed, informed consent must be obtained.
Access to Research Data
- During the review process, authors may be asked to provide raw data to the editor to validate the research’s accuracy or credibility.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
- Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as employment, consultancies, honoraria, or other affiliations, to the editor at the earliest opportunity.
- All sources of financial support must be transparently disclosed.
Acceptance and Rejection of Manuscripts
- Authors may inquire about their manuscript’s status 30 days after receiving an acknowledgment of submission.
- If revisions are required, authors must address the feedback within the specified timeframe and provide a detailed explanation of all changes made.
- In cases of rejection, authors may appeal the decision by contacting the editor directly.
