Policy for the Editor

The editor of Heritage: International Journal of Linguistics and Literature holds primary responsibility for maintaining the journal’s academic quality and integrity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Exercising full authority to accept or reject submitted manuscripts based on adherence to the journal’s publication policies, the quality of the topic, references, content, presentation, language, and other professional standards.
  • Ensuring all manuscripts undergo a thorough blind peer review process and are subjected to a Plagiarism Check in strict compliance with the HEC Plagiarism Policy.
  • Upholding the journal’s policies independently and without external influence or institutional pressure, while issuing corrections, clarifications, or apologies as necessary through corrigenda.
  • Possessing the authority to appoint, replace, or revise members of the Editorial and Advisory Boards, as well as facilitating regular editorial board meetings to ensure the smooth operation of the journal.
  • Selecting articles for publication with an unbiased approach, disregarding factors such as the author’s gender, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural background, political views, seniority, or institutional affiliation.
  • Promptly addressing author inquiries regarding the status of submitted manuscripts.
  • Avoiding any involvement with submissions where a conflict of interest exists and requiring reviewers to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the manuscripts they evaluate, ensuring impartiality in the review process.
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality of manuscript content before publication, both at their own level and among the reviewers.
